Insch has won a Breathing Space grant of £8000 from the Big Lottery Fund. This will be used to regenerate Insch Meadow
What is a Breathing Space? It is somewhere you can escape the hassles of everyday life and children can learn about nature and get their hands dirty.
Where is Insch Meadow? In the High Street turn left down the lane at the side of the Masonic Hall. You will find an area of long grass, trees and bushes, with a burn running through it.
What will the grant be used for? A mown picnic area will be created with picnic tables. The grassland will be managed to encourage the spread of wild flowers, improving the biodiversity of the area. A new pond is planned where a curling pond existed before WWI.
A group has been set up to manage the project but lots of help will be needed to ensure its success.
